Based on 333 reviewsRestaurante Halach - Huinic is widely appreciated for its authentic Yucatecan cuisine, particularly standout dishes like pibil and poc chuc, which are praised for their rich flavors and traditional preparation. Visitors frequently highlight the freshness of homemade tortillas and the generous portion sizes, making it a satisfying dining option near Uxmal. The restaurant’s rustic palapa setting offers a charming and cool atmosphere, enhancing the casual roadside dining experience. Friendly and attentive service is consistently noted, along with a well-curated selection of cold beverages that complement the food well. Overall, it is recognized as a great value for money, appealing to travelers seeking genuine local flavors after exploring the nearby ruins.
Easily the best Yucatan style food near Uxmal with Pibil as good as the best places in Mexico. So good that my wife and I ate there 2 days in a row while following the Puuc trail. Homemade tortillas, tasty traditional food, cold drinks and warm service- Just perfect after a hot day exploring ruins.
We had a nice late breakfast or early lunch after visiting Uxmal.
Restaurante Halach - Huinic on the way from Uxmal to Mérida is a pleasant roadside eatery that exceeded my expectations. Considering it is a simple highway restaurant, the food was quite good for a decent price. The decor is simple but nice and cool thanks to the palapa, which adds a rustic charm to the dining experience. They offer a good selection of beers and drinks, which is a plus.I tried the panuchos with pork cochinita, and the serving was very generous with four panuchos—enough for two people for a lighter lunch. They also have discounted packages where you can select any starter (soup or guacamole), any main, and any dessert for a fixed price, which is a great deal. My friend had the pollo frito and was very happy with their meal as well.Previously, I always stopped at the restaurant just before, Ppapp Hol Chac de Uxmal, which offers similar fare and might look slightly nicer with more decorations, but it often has a longer wait time for food due to its popularity.Overall, Restaurante Halach - Huinic is a great stop for a tasty and satisfying meal when traveling between Uxmal and Mérida. Highly recommended for its generous portions, good service, and reasonable prices.
Friendly and very attentive service. Authentic cuisine. Lunch was provided with our tour.
Great place. So much flavor in the food, ice-cold drinks, and quick service. Good prices, large portions. The Poc Chuc was incredible. If it weren't so far away from where I am, I would visit it more often.
Had a wonderful lunch here as part of a private tour to Uxmal. The service and food were great. The pork pibil and chicken lime soup were fresh and delicious. Good selection of drinks including the local coffee liquor.
Panuchos with cochinita Pibil and empanada with cha ya cheese are must try! The flavor are so well balanced and it’s freshly fried! Pork in Yucatán style are also tasty. They are a local restaurant with authentic Yucatán food.Portions are large too! Horchata and Lima are also fresh and rich. Highly recommended.
A great stop near Uxmal. Lunch special is 300 pesos for appetizer, main, and dessert. Choice of sopa de Lima or guacamole, pollo or cochinita pibil or poc chuc and flan for dessert. Our group had them all and they were very good. Plus a woman hand making tortillas!
